About Us

At Caracal guitars we bring your dream instrument to life.

Ordering a custom guitar is not just about the final product but also the journey.

We like to discuss what your inspirations are, what music you like, what kind of music do you play and what makes a guitar attractive to you.

This will help us design the best instrument for YOU.

We will talk about what tonewoods would be best for the sound and response you need from the instrument, the inlays, scale lengths, pickups, controls etc.

You will also get a 3D model of your design with the specific pieces of wood you selected so you have a clear idea of what the final product will look like.

We will  send you regular updates (pictures and videos) of your build from a block of wood to the final product.

It truly is, about the experience.

About the Luthier

Deepen Solanki, luthier and founder of Caracal Guitars has been a musician for over 15 years and is a Mechanical Engineer by trade.

He has been modifying and repairing his instruments since his first guitar he ever owned.  Now as a luthier he strives to offer all the features that he ever had to add to his guitars in a Caracal Guitar.

         ──────────────────────────────

I always suffered from strained shoulders and wrists with stock guitars. Since my family has a history of cervical spondylosis (arthritis of neck and shoulders) I assumed genetics were to blame for this. So, on almost all my guitars I used to carve out a arm bevel as well as a cut on the bottom to facilitate better playing in classical position.

Being an engineer I set out to create a ergonomic guitar which ticked all the boxes of comfort. Why should musicians who play guitar 8 hours a day suffer from bad shoulders?

Being obsessed over small details played into my favour  in creating the perfect instruments in every aspect. The guitars I built for myself in Canada drew a lot of interest and admiration from other musicians.

When I made my move back from Canada to India I knew that I wanted to keep building more unique instruments for the amazing musician that deserve the best.
